AMACC was founded in 2009 by a group of experts with a long history of working in the humanitarian and technical mine action field, our team includes operations officers, quality management officers, technical advisors and EOD experts to name just a few.

Implementing and developing the best and latest methods to mitigate the direct and indirect risks and impacts of mines and explosives remnants of war, on affected communities, economies, and development. Mine Action Pillars

The term ‘mine action’ refers to those activities which, together, aim to reduce the social, economic and environmental impact of explosive ordnance. Mine action comprises five complementary groups of activities which known as MA pillars

Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE)

Activities which seek to reduce the risk of injury from EO by raising awareness of women, girls, boys and men in accordance with their different vulnerabilities, roles and needs, and promoting behavioural change. Core activities include public information dissemination, education and training.

Clearance

Mine clearance is one of the five core components of mine action. In its broad sense, it includes surveys, mapping and minefield marking, as well as the actual clearance of mines from the ground. This range of activities is often referred to as "demining".

Advocacy

public support, recommendation or positive publicity with the aim of removing, or at least reducing, the risk from, and the impact of, mines and explosive remnants of war.

Victim Assistance

Set of activities addressing the needs and rights of explosive ordnance survivors and victims. It comprises emergency and ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, psychological and psycho-social support, as well as socio-economic inclusion.

Stockpile Destruction

Stockpiled landmines outnumber those actually laid in the ground. In accordance with Article 4 of the Anti-personnel Mine Ban Convention, State Parties must destroy their stockpiled mines within four years after their accession to the Convention. Sixty-five countries have now destroyed their stockpiles of antipersonnel landmines, destroying a combined total of more than 37 million mines. Other fifty-one countries have officially declared not having a stockpile of anti-personnel mines and a further three countries are scheduled to destroy their stockpiles by the end of the year.
